Meet Angelica M. Lopez

Angelica Lopez is a Child Development Specialist and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University and her Master's Degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, with a concentration in Child Development and Child Psychopathology.

Angelica has been working with parents and their children for more than 12 years in a variety of capacities that range from in home training, educational support and parenting classes/support groups.  In addition to coaching parents through the everyday challenges of parenting, Angelica has also assisted families who are raising children with special needs including: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder, Sensory Integration Dysfunctions and Down Syndrome.

Aside from her private practice, Angelica also collaborates with Learning Foundations in San Antonio by assisting students struggling through Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorders and ADD/ADHD.  She is also involved with Foresters' San Antonio community team by leading projects and events which promote family wellness and families spending quality time together.  

She has been featured on PBS-KLRN as well as ConexionSA.  Her book "Confessions From My Minivan:  Parenting Lessons I Have Learned From Behind the Wheel" is scheduled to be released in 2013.

As a writer, Angelica contributes articles about raising children both with and without special needs that can be read on Examiner.com and AuPair Care.  

Angelica is married to her college sweetheart and is a mother of three beautiful children, and is expecting a baby boy in March 2013.  She lives with her family in San Antonio, Texas.
