WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT MEAN TO BE A POSITIVE PARENT?

Picture
Being a parent can be the most rewarding role a person can have, and at the same time, it can be the most challenging!  Don't you sometimes wish there was a user's manual that came along with your child, with step by step instructions on how to handle each and every single challenge and issue you face?

Unfortunately a user's manual has never been created and even if there was one, it would be far too big for us to carry.  Each child is different, unique in their own way.  They have their own personality, temperament, interests and challenges.

A positive parent fully recognizes these differences and approaches parenting with this truth in mind.  Rather than primarily focus on compliance and consequences, a positive parent creates an environment for a child to learn, use their imagination, gain a sense of self confidence and to grow a strong parent-child bond.
